The Net-MetriXs analyzer probe is a software application that plays a crucial role in the NET-xTVMS system, which is designed for the real-time oversight of IPTV services. It can be installed on various customer devices, such as CPUs, PCs, or servers, at locations chosen by the customer, like a headend. This versatile probe is capable of monitoring different types of streams, including DVB-C/S/T/H, analog PAL, and OTT streams. Operating on a Linux platform, the IPTV probe offers extensive scalability, enabling it to monitor anywhere from a handful to several hundred multicast streams effectively. It checks the quality of both the physical and transport layers for optional DVB-C/DVB-T/DVB-S/DVB-H/Analog PAL interfaces, provided that the appropriate PCI-E cards are installed. The probe captures and retains more than 30 transport metrics, which encompass TR101290 priority levels 1 and 2, packet loss rate, PCR jitter, and additional parameters. Users can set customized alarm thresholds and apply presentation filters to all metrics, enhancing the system's adaptability and responsiveness to varying monitoring needs. This flexibility makes the Net-MetriXs analyzer a valuable tool for maintaining high-quality IPTV service delivery.
